Welcome to the Columbus Museum of Art Intern Wiki!
Stay informed and help maintain the intern community.
Why use a wiki to stay in touch?
I have been struggling for several months now on how to create an electronic resource that is accessible to all interns. I wanted this resource to be easy to use, allow for updates and postings by all interns, be a good default location for information, a way to stay connected and a way to keep accurate records. I have tried several other formats without much success before I stumbled across the idea of a wiki. I think this might be the answer to all our shared interning needs.
The wiki model allows everyone to comment and post information as needed. Everyone can have access to the content and easily make updates.
Why connect with the CMA intern community?
Being an intern can be very stressful and challenging. Although it comes with many rewards sometimes it can be discouraging. Knowing there are other people in the same position as you, facing the same challenges and hurdles, can be helpful. Staying connected with these individuals can be even more helpful! Perhaps you are curious about what it is like interning in another department. Maybe you want to collaborate on a project you have been assigned. Maybe you just want to know who is working in the department on days you aren't at the museum. These are all examples of how maintaining a strong intern community can be helpful.
Also, I want to stay more connected to all the interns, both those currently working in the museum and those who have moved on to new things. I want a way to share resources and events. I need to have your your feedback. I want to know what jobs and other internships intern alum have obtained after their time at the museum. I want the internship program to be a rewarding and memorable experience for each participant.
Why do you need to participate?
I can only achieve a great internship program with your help! I need to have your feedback, know your stories, help you with your challenges and share in your success. I know that this museum is full of great interns and I want to make sure that each and every one of those interns is getting a full and rich experience out of their internship. To do this we must cooperate and stay connected. We are all working towards the same goals - supporting the Columbus Museum of Art and obtaining professional skills that lead to fulfilling careers.
